From High School to College: Engaging in Writing Dialogue

This symposium is intended to give high school English teachers and first-year college writing teachers a chance to discuss concerns, common practices, and shared goals. Panelists from area high schools, first-year college writing programs, and writing centers will kick off conversations regarding planning, practice and assessments. We will delve into the questions that we have as educators and share ideas about teaching and learning.

The collaborative conversation at the symposium will give you a chance to speak directly to area college writing instructors about the how they teach writing, what they assign, and how they assess the writing their students do. Be better informed about your students’ future writing expectations and how you can prepare them for the challenges of writing in college writing-intensive courses.

Registration is just $40! Lunch will be provided.

Get involved. Prepare your students. Sign up today!

Sponsored by the Greater Madison Writing Project in conjunction with the UW-Madison Department of English and Office of Education Outreach and Partnership. Be on the look out for our flyer hanging around the UW Campus! You can also view it here
