About WAIBWS

The Education Outreach and Partnerships office is a member/partner of Wisconsin Association of IB World Schools, Wisconsin's regional association of International Baccalaureate (IB) schools.  Wisconsin has a number of IB World Schools.  IB has three programs for students aged 3 to 19 which help develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. The three programs are the Primary Years Program (PYP), the Middle Years Program (MYP) and the Diploma Program.

The IB program is a standardized education program. Each student is assessed comprehensively to the same rigorous standard all across the world. A student who achieves the IB Diploma in Wisconsin has achieved the same standard of excellence as a student who receives an IB Diploma in a private school found in the most affluent areas of the world.

The Wisconsin Association of IB World Schools (WAIBWS) is offering the IB Orientation Seminar, the newest level of training of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). The seminar is designed for schools or districts that are exploring whether the selected IB program is a good match for their students. The Orientation Seminar also provides an excellent overview of IB for new staff in existing programs.
