Participants will discuss the language demands of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and the Next Generation of Science Standards (NGSS). In school teams, participants will work in integrating content (CCSS and NGSS) and language (WIDA ELD) standards to develop a custom design for the instruction and assessment of ELLs. The World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) group at UW-Madison will be offering its first national conference in Milwaukee. The conference “Language Learner Success Building on Strengths,” will provide PreK through grade 12 educators of language learners opportunities for professional development, idea sharing, relationship building, and strategic collaboration.
