Science on Wheels
Science on Wheels is an intensive academic, biking, and leadership program for youths in the summer before their 9th grade. This hands-on, interdisciplinary program will explore topics ranging from botany and ecology to astronomy and leadership. This program is designed to help students who are bright but not yet achieving to their potential. Science on Wheels is the perfect transition to high school, helping students make better personal and academic choices.
The students will spend three days and two nights on the UW-Madison campus and at the Mazomanie Science Outreach Outpost, where they will engage in a variety of academic and leadership experiences. The students will then travel to Governor Dodge State Park to camp and explore the natural environment on bicycles for four days and three nights. Students will be immersed in experiential learning activities, biking along designated routes, and will even be learning how to cook on a camp stove!
EOP receives grant for students under-represented in gifted and talented programs. Read the full press release.
